In Italy, all the students whether regional or foreigners, all are entitled to avail the financial assistance services based on their merits. Italian government offers a number of scholarships at regional and national level for everyone. Plus, there are also some universities in Italy that encourage international students by offering scholarships to them.
- Italian Government Scholarships for International Students
Italian ministry of Foreign Affairs and Italian ministry for Economic Development supports a programme named “Invest your Talent in Italy.” The IYT programme offers the opportunity to students from Colombia, Ethiopia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Ghana, India, Iran, Mexico, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, and Tunisia to develop their skills by specializing through a range of Master’s and Postgraduate Courses in English. - Bologna University Study Grant for International Students
International students who are well-deserving and wish to register for the First Cycle (Bachelors), Second Cycle (Masters), or the Single Degree Programmes; the University of Bologna offers the study grants. Each grant amounts to a total of €11,059 for one academic year.
- EDISU Piemonte Scholarship
Universities of Piedmont (i.e. The University of Torino, The Politecnico of Torino, and The University of Eastern Piedmont) offers EDISU scholarships to the students who are enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, Single Cycle Master’s Degree, or PhD Degree courses. All students including non-EU international students and part-time students can apply if they meet the merit and economic requisites of the competition. The amount of scholarship varies depending on the various conditions. Also, non-resident students are eligible to avail the accommodation service too.
- Bocconi University Scholarships for International Students
Students who are attending any Bachelor’s Program or Master of Science Program at Bocconi are subjected to the scholarship. It offers a full tuition waiver worth up to €11,500 for Bachelor’s Program and up to €12,700 for Master of Science Program every year.
- University of Pavia International Scholarships for Developing Country Students

- Politecnico de Milano Merit-Based Scholarships for International Students

- University of Padova Scholarships for All Degree Courses

The UCSC International Scholarship facilitates students by offering the discount that covers about 42% of the total cost. Università Cattolica promotes the annual tuition fee concession to foster international students’ access to the degree programmes.
- Scuola Normale Superiore PhD Scholarships
The university offers 78 fully funded PhD scholarships for full financial support including tuition, fees, and a cost-of living. All students whether citizens or non-citizens can avail the scholarship.
