How A Single Mother Of Two Paid Off Her Student Loans

How A Single Mother Of Two Paid Off Her Student Loans

When I started school I had a plan, I was going to work hard and find a great job with the education I was getting. Then soon after I graduated I’d start payments on my student loans. It is not cheap and I recommend to any student to check all options before settling for a pricey student loan with a high interest rate. Also, if at all possible, start your payments while you are in school if you have a job.

After graduation I was feeling so overjoyed with myself, but then it hit me, I was in a lot of serious debt. When I finally landed a good job that paid decent I would find myself wondering how to make ends meet. My student loans were around $250.00 each month, and I still had over 10 years of payments! Taking care of two children and working was dragging me down, and my debt from my Loans were only making it harder. After a long search, I realized that I should have done more research on the student loans I took out. There are so many ways to get help with paying for schooling, as well as grants and scholarships. So before you put yourself in debt, look into every option. You may end up writing a simple essay and get all of your education paid for. I wish I would have taken the extra time to look further into all of that information.

When I decided it was time to get a second job to help with my student loans I had a hard time finding something. Eventually I started writing articles for $5.00 each. With writing four to five articles a day I made pretty good money. At the end of the month I would use the $750.00 I had made writing only 150 articles a month and put every penny towards my student loans. I was so happy to be paying off so much Student Debt that I didn’t even realize I’d have it paid in about 4 years. Knowing now what I do about student loans, and other options I do wish I would have taken more time to research and compare. Lesson learned for this lady.
