Nokia has launched a few Android devices that went out of stock in a few seconds. They have many upcoming devices which are rumoured to have the amazing specifications. One device is called Nokia E1 with a5.5inch display anticipated atRs.29,900 in India.

Design and display:

Nokia E1 has also not been officially announced yet, but as per the preliminary specifications, it comes with a 5.5 inch display with full HD screen resolution but the exact dimensions not known yet. It will be available in three colours-black, gray and white.It lacks a 2k display as most of the devices have it. Nokia E1 has the screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a pixel density of 401 PPI. Nokia E1 will also use an IPS LCD display similar to Nokia 8 and will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass screen protection.

There is a logo at the bottom of the front side below the display. Above the display lies the 5 MP front camera. There are three capacitive keys below the display with back key on the right side. The volume and power button lie on the right side of the device. Nokia E1 uses USB type C port which is present at the bottom of the device.  There is no fingerprint sensor in this device and the device also is not water resistant.

The back cover of the device is non-removable like all phones these days. Nokia E1 comes with an average battery of 2700 mAH.  It has a 20MP rear camera at the back with LED flash.

Performance:

Nokia E1 runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 MSM8996 Pro chipset and will give the best performance. It will use Quad core 2.15 GHz, Dual core, Kryo + 1.6 GHz, Dual core, Kryo processor. Nokia E1 uses Adreno 530 GPU and runs on 4 GB of RAM.

Camera:

Nokia E1 features a 20 MP primary camera at the back, which comes with phase detection autofocus and LED flash.  It lacks optical image stabilization. The maximum image resolution of Nokia E1 is 5160 x 3872 Pixels and has usual modes like Exposure compensation, ISO control, Continuous Shooting, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR), Face detection, Touch to focus.

Nokia E1 features a 5 MP front camera for selfies. There is no front LED flash in Nokia E1.

Software:

Nokia E1 will run on Android Nougt (7.0) out of the box. Nokia E1 will also have its own Z launcher on the top which was seen in Nokia N1. The device also comes with gesture support.Users can draw on the screen to launch certain apps or perform some function.

Storage

Nokia E1 has an internal memory of 64 GB which can be expanded up to 256 GB. We are not sure if the slot will be a dedicated card slot or will use a hybrid SIM slot.

Battery

Nokia E1 comes with an average battery as per the preliminary specifications. It features a 2,700mAh battery which is non-removable. Nokia E1 uses USB type C port, but we are not sure whether it will support  fast charging or not.

Connectivity

Nokia E1 is a dual SIM device which supports 4G in both slots. It supports following 4G bands TD-LTE 2600(band 38) / 2300(band 40) / 2500(band 41) / 1900(band 39)
FD-LTE 2100(band 1) / 1800(band 3) / 2600(band 7) / 850(band 5) / 800(band 20). Nokia E1 will support NFC as per the preliminary specifications. We are not sure about the presence of hybrid slot.Nokia E1 will have a 3.5 mm jack and usual sensors like Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Compass and Gyroscope. It uses Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n and also supports Wifi Direct. It doesn’t support micro USB but comes with USB OTG support.

Price

The price of Nokia E1 is expected to be under 30k in India.

Verdict

Nokia E1 looks good as per the preliminary specifications. It has ample storage and great camera at the price.  However, the battery looks average. Nokia E1 also has great hardware configuration coupled with 4 GB RAM. With so many latest mobiles being launched in the coming months, it might be confusing to make a choice.
