The Success Blueprint: Habits That Propelled Famous Women to the Top

Who runs the world? Girls. Those are the famous words of one of the most successful artists in the world right now, Beyonce. However, Beyonce didn’t become successful overnight. She needed to make lifestyle changes that would put her on the pedestal of success.

Just like Beyonce, there are many other successful women who have incorporated habits into their lifestyles. Oprah Winfrey, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Zhang Xin and many more. Let’s look at some of the habits you incorporate into your life to help you become more successful.

Embrace Confidence

Firstly, something that many successful women have in common is that they embrace their confidence. Unfortunately, often confident women have been weaponised and it can be viewed as a weakness if they are direct, assertive and extroverted, sometimes even being labelled as lacking confidence. However, some of the most successful women are showing that women can simply be confident and this can help them to thrive in life, both in and out of work.

It’s so important to believe in ourselves and our abilities, speaking with conviction and reminding ourselves that we’ve worked hard and deserve to be in the position we’re in. Being confident, whilst not bordering on arrogant, is a fantastic trait to have and so reminding yourself that you deserve to be confident and that is what helps to make you who you are.

Reading Daily

One of the many habits that successful women have is reading daily. Daily reading of non-fictional or self-improvement books is great for constantly expanding your knowledge. There is no age limit to stop learning so you should always look to read at least once a day to help improve your knowledge, whether you have time for 10 minutes or an hour. If you commute, this is a great opportunity to read rather than wasting time scrolling (which we’re all guilty of), and instead make the time much more productive.

Also, reading before bed is a fantastic habit, to help you reduce your blue light exposure before sleep, so you will get to sleep better and then feel much more refreshed the following day. Whilst scrolling before bed can feel therapeutic, ultimately it isn’t good for us, whereas if you can get into the habit of reading before bed it can really help with our growth.

They Create Time In The Morning

Many of us fall into the habit of eating, sleeping, working, and repeat; however, there is more to life than that boring routine. We should start to enjoy our morning and the way to do that is to wake up early in the morning to get your routine underway.

Oprah Winfrey has a morning routine which consists of a morning walk and spiritual practice. She will then commit to some form of exercise such as a light strength workout or even Yoga. We should all have different routines to suit our needs and align with our goals.

The morning should focus on your personal pursuits. That could be learning a new language, reading a book, planning the day or even a workout. You should create time to activate the mind in the morning before you go to work.

Spend Time Reflecting

Reflecting is another good habit to incorporate into your daily routine. Reflecting on your day is a great way to recognise what you have accomplished during the day. Additionally, you will have a better understanding of your thoughts and processes throughout the day. Plus, it allows for meaningful thoughts.

Meditating is something else that is a great daily habit to have, as it can transform how we feel for the rest of the day. Meditating is all about using breathing techniques to clear our mind and to ease feelings of stress and anxiety. There are so many different types, so if you’re just starting out in your meditation journey, we’d recommend trying guided meditation where you’ll be taken through the process.

Have Multiple Goals, Both Small and Big

Setting yourself multiple goals for the day and week is something else that is important to be successful. Even setting yourself more goals will make you feel like you have achieved something for that day, even when you think you have had a bad day at work.

These small goals can include drinking 2 litres of water, having five a day and making healthy swaps, making your bed, reading ten pages, exercising or all of those mentioned. Winning these small goals will help you to achieve your larger goals. It will give you a sense of achievement which will help you to stay motivated.

They Know When To Say No

Many people have difficulty with the word no, especially when it comes to work or meeting up with friends. Having the power to say no will make you prioritise the things you want to do. At work, if someone is asking you to do a task, don’t accept it if you struggle to fit it into your schedule. If you say yes to too many things it can lead to burnout. Burnout can lead you to underperform at work which can cause even further issues. Say no until your schedule is free and then help with the other tasks if people need it.

They Ensure They Get Enough Exercise Each Day

There is one thing that many successful women do and that is exercise. Going back to Oprah Winfrey before, she mentioned that she aims to get some form of exercise in the morning before she starts her day.

Exercise is one of those things that allows you to keep improving yourself. Furthermore, it is one of those smaller goals you can complete during your day. It gives you a sense of achievement because you have beaten your best 5KM run or lifted a heavier weight compared to what you did the previous time.

It doesn’t need to be breaking records with your exercise either. It could just be that you have done your exercise for the day. It helps you stay fit and motivated and releases the beta-endorphin. This endorphin can also help with menstrual disturbances and help to reduce stress.

Summary
