Samsung Galaxy S4 Outperforms IPhone 5 And HTC One In Benchmark Tests

Samsung recently unveiled its much anticipated Galaxy S4 in New York City’s Radio Music Hall and shortly thereafter there was speculation the new smartphone was experiencing software issues the company couldn’t overcome.   The folks at Android Authority performed a Geekbench 2 benchmark test which put those rumors to rest once and for all.
The Geekbench 2 benchmark tests pitted the Galaxy S4 against the most powerful and fastest smart phones on the market today and it outperformed each one to emerge as the winner on several fronts.  The S4 went up against the iPhone 5, HTC One, BlackBerry Z10 and Samsung’s own S3.
There are actually two versions of the Galaxy S4.  The first version is powered by Samsung’s new Exynos 5 Octa processor and the second is powered by Qualcomm’s existing quad-core processor.  Both versions of the phone come with 2 gigabytes of RAM and a PowerVR SGX544MP3 triple-core GPU.
The Geekbench 2 benchmark tests were performed on the Qualcomm quad-core processor model.  The benchmark tests revealed the Samsung Galaxy S4 is the fastest smartphone in the world and it is twice as fast the S3.  The S4 received a score of 3163.  To put that into perspective, the HTC One, which garnered second place, received a score of 2687.  The LG Nexus 4 received a score of 2040 and the iPhone 5 came in fifth place with a score of 1596.

Samsung’s president, J.K. Shin, is extremely happy with the results of the Geekbench 2 benchmark tests, and he predicts the S4 will outsell all the other smartphones on the market today.  Mr. Shin gave the opening speech during the unveiling in New York which included a four-scene Broadway skit with dozens of performers.
In addition to being the fastest smartphone on the planet, the S4 comes with one of the biggest screens in the industry at 5 inches.  The screen is a full-HD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, and pixel density of 441 pixels per inch.  The display provides an awesome picture which is perfect for viewing YouTube videos and Netflix movies.
The Galaxy S4 will be sold in 3 variations which include 16 gigabytes, 32 gigabytes, and 64 gigabytes.  The phone will also feature a microSD card slot for users who want to expand the phone’s memory or capabilities.

Consumers who enjoy taking pictures and capturing video will drool over the phones two cameras.  It has one in the front and one in the back.  The front camera is 2-megapixels and the rear camera packs 13-megapixels.  The cameras offer features that aren’t found on other phones.  It features a dual-shot capability which allows users to capture images with both the front and rear cameras simultaneously.
The Galaxy S4 is slated to go on sale by the end of June according to a statement made by Mr. Shin.  Users who want to purchase a screen protector or a case for the phone can find a few retailers online offering them at reasonable prices.
