Rules For Packing For A Business Trip

So the world has gone bonkers, but at least our day to day living isn’t being stuck inside on a Zoom meeting with our work attire on top, and pyjamas on the bottom. It’s been a funny old year with business getting back on track. The issue is if you have a job that requires the occasional business trip, it can soon add up. It can be hard to decide what type of business trip you will be having, so It’s best to be prepared. In this article, we will go through some top rules for packoing for a business trip.

Pack by look

It’s best to pre plan what you are going to wear on each day of the busines trip, from head to toe. This means laying out each outfit with its shoes, bag, jewellery and any other accessories that you have. By doing this, it helps to avoid bringing things that you won’t need weighing you down. This also helps to ensure you have all the appropriate attire for each of your meets and events. It might be worth trying to find out the itinerary so you can pack accordingly.

Be strategic with shoes

It’s always best to be prepared for all events when it comes to a business trip. Shoes are one of those things that you just can’t get away with bringing one pair. No, instead you should bring a pair of heels or boots to match all outfits, a pair of flats and a pair of sneakers for when you are socialising. Ensure that your shoes all match your outfits as you never know who you will be meeting and first impressions count.

Aim for a carry on

You want something that you can easily walk with without having to heave the massive suitcase to the hotel. Instead it’s best to challenge yourself to sticking to a carry-on suitcase. It’s small and easily monouverable and it saves time and the risk of the airline losing your bag. You can easily fit everything you need in there, well, that and maybe your luxury handbag.

Keep expensive stuff in your carry on

If you need to check a bag in, it should contain all of your most valuable items such as any of your luxury clothing that you may wan’t away, your laptop and anything else you feel you should keep extra safe. The last thing you want is them to get damaged from the airline or even worse, stolen from someone. Keep everything important with you at all times, especially if it’s something essential for your trip’s success.

Carry the most important outfit with you

If you have one business meeting that you just need to get right, the best way to get there is through confidence. Having your best business attire on gives some people that confidence. So imagine if that got lost or stolen in your carry on. Instead, aim to carry this with you so you don’t run the risk of losing it.

Bring your own conditioner

Hotel conditioner is never any good, unless you’re at a 5 star hotel, but chances are, you won’t be so lucky. Another tip is to have this in a locktight bag just in case of any leakage. You don’t want to have a bad hair day on the road.

Wear the heaviest/bulkiest garments

The last thing you want to do is be trying to squash all of your bulky things in the suitcase. This just wastes space for the more important things. It also saves you creasing all of your clothes. Instead, wear your heaviest, and bulkiest items like your boots, coat, blazer or whatever you think of. Follow these simple steps and you will be having a successful happy trip.
