A Beginners Guide To Commercial Cleaning Supplies

If you’re in the process of starting your own cleaning company, you’ll no doubt be excited about what lies ahead of you. Your mind is also probably filled with an everlasting list of things that need doing! One of the most important things you will need to pay attention to is purchasing your first batch of commercial cleaning supplies and tools. After all, you’ll not be much of a cleaning company without anything to clean with, will you?

After starting my own company doing office cleaning in Cambridge several years ago, I thought I’d take the time to provide you with a selection of simple, yet highly effective tips to help you on your way. They should make the sourcing and shopping process a lot easier for you. The first thing you need to do is make a list. Sounds easy and obvious doesn’t it? Well, you wouldn’t believe how many start-ups neglect this task. And you can guess what happens after that . . . they live to regret it! The different commercial cleaning products and equipment you will need to buy is vast!  That’s reason enough to make a physical note of everything . . . otherwise you’re bound to drop the ball.

You should keep this practice up in the future as well. Keep a record of how many products you are left with, so you know when you need to re-order. After a while, you’ll begin to have a clear idea of what products and in what quantities you need. For example, you might recognise that you need to purchase one litre of toilet cleaner to every five litres of floor cleaner. Therefore you’ll be able to make your ordering more efficient.

It’s no secret that buying in bulk is the way to go in any business. You’ll soon see that most commercial cleaning suppliers offer discounts per unit when you buy a larger volume. Not only that, but when you order over a certain amount you’ll benefit from other perks, like free delivery. Once you’ve determined which supplier to use you should make a note of all of their deals and offers. Be sure to take advantage of them because they will all add up in the long run and can end up saving you quite a substantial sum of money.

Don’t forget that you will also need to buy cleaning trolleys for your employee’s.  The list of all the products and equipment that you made in the beginning will prove advantageous here too. Go back to your list and use a highlighter to mark all the products and tools that will be included in your staff cleaning trolleys. This will help you to find a trolley that suits your requirements. There are a wide range of trolleys available, differing largely in size as well as the compartments. You’ll be able to look at the different trolleys and find the best one to house all of your tools and goods.

If you’re starting your very own cleaning company the best thing to do is plan, plan and then plan some more! Follow my guide and you shouldn’t have any trouble purchasing your commercial cleaning equipment and supplies cost effectively and efficiently.
